Vanessa Cain, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Forum Health Las Colinas with extensive experience in cardiovascular and preventive care. She spent 12 years at UT Southwestern, including five years as a nurse practitioner caring for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions across general, preventive, interventional, electrophysiology, and heart failure clinics.
Vanessa’s interest in functional medicine grew from her passion for helping patients optimize their health and address risk factors before they develop into more serious concerns. She completed coursework through the Institute for Functional Medicine, expanding her approach beyond individual symptoms to better understand the connections between different systems of the body.
At the heart of Vanessa’s approach is listening. She takes time to understand each patient’s symptoms, history, lifestyle, and goals while looking beyond whether lab results simply fall within a “normal” range. By connecting these pieces, Vanessa works with patients to develop personalized strategies that support their health and long-term wellness.
