Forum Health · National Lyme Center

Lyme disease care that finally treats the cause, not just the symptoms.

Whether you've already been diagnosed with Lyme disease or suspect you may have Lyme or one of the many tick-borne co-infections, you know the frustration of not being heard: short antibiotic courses, dismissive follow ups, and symptoms that never fully resolve. Our Lyme literate providers look past the standard protocol to find and treat what's actually driving your illness, co-infections, immune dysfunction, and the underlying imbalances most clinicians never test for.

Lyme-Literate Providers Personalized, Root-Cause Protocols Nationwide, Virtual & In-Person Care

A network of Lyme disease specialists for complex and chronic cases that standard treatment couldn't solve.

At Forum Health, our National Lyme Centers bring together experienced, Lyme literate providers who specialize in complex, chronic Lyme disease and the co-infections standard protocols often miss, Babesia, Bartonella, Ehrlichia, and more.

We don't stop at a short course of antibiotics. We dig deeper to find what's still driving your symptoms, then build a treatment plan around the actual cause, not just the diagnosis code.

Lyme Disease Symptoms: When a Deeper Evaluation May Help

If you've been diagnosed with Lyme (or suspect it) and these symptoms are still showing up, it may mean the underlying infection or co-infection hasn't been fully addressed.

Fatigue that doesn't improve with rest
Brain fog, memory slips, trouble focusing
Migrating joint or muscle pain
Headaches or pressure sensations
Dizziness or light sensitivity
Sleep issues — wired but tired
Mood shifts: anxiety, irritability
Gut changes: bloating, irregularity
New sensitivities to foods, smells, or supplements

Symptoms can have many causes. This page is educational and not a diagnosis.

Questions we hear often

What's included in the first visit?▾
A comprehensive evaluation, review of your relevant history and prior workups, and a clear plan for next steps tailored to your case.
What if I've already been treated for Lyme?▾
Many patients come in after prior treatment. We focus on clarifying what's driving persistent symptoms and identifying a practical next-step plan.
Do you take insurance?▾
We are an out-of-network provider. We can provide documentation you may submit for reimbursement, depending on your plan.
Will you order labs?▾
If appropriate. Testing decisions are individualized and discussed with you beforehand.
What are common Lyme disease symptoms? ▾
Lyme disease symptoms can vary depending on the stage of infection. Early symptoms may appear within days or weeks of a tick bite and can include an expanding bull’s-eye rash, fever, chills, fatigue, headache, muscle and joint pain, and swollen lymph nodes. If Lyme disease progresses, symptoms may include severe headaches, neck stiffness, arthritis and joint pain, heart palpitations, dizziness, nerve pain, numbness, shooting pain, and other neurological symptoms.
How do Lyme disease specialists evaluate complex cases? ▾
Our Lyme disease specialists take a comprehensive, functional medicine approach that looks beyond symptoms alone. Evaluation may include your medical history, potential tick exposure, previous testing and treatment, immune function, inflammation, co-infections, and other health factors that could contribute to persistent symptoms. This broader view helps your provider develop a more personalized approach to both acute and chronic Lyme disease.
When might testing for Lyme disease be considered? ▾
Testing may be considered when symptoms, medical history, or potential tick exposure suggest Lyme disease or a related infection. In addition to conventional Lyme disease testing, our specialists may use advanced diagnostic tools such as PCR or expanded antibody testing to look for Lyme-causing bacteria and co-infections. Additional testing may also be used to evaluate immune response, inflammation, and other infections or imbalances that can help provide a more complete picture of your health.
How is Lyme disease treatment personalized? ▾
Lyme disease treatment is personalized based on your symptoms, test results, medical history, co-infections, previous treatments, and overall health. Depending on your needs, treatment may combine conventional antibiotic therapy with nutritional support, detoxification protocols, lifestyle modifications, and other integrative therapies designed to support immune function, gut health, and recovery. For some patients, advanced options such as Q-REstrain (formerly SOT) may also be considered as part of an individualized treatment plan.
Can I see a Lyme disease specialist virtually? ▾
Yes. Our nationwide network of Lyme disease specialists offers virtual consultations and ongoing care for eligible patients. Depending on your location and treatment needs, virtual Lyme disease care may include evaluation of symptoms and previous testing, personalized treatment planning, and follow-up care. Some testing or treatments may require an in-person visit.
