Dr. Reynolds takes an integrative and functional medicine approach to address the most challenging cases, helping her patients heal when no one else could. She has been inspired by the health journeys of her children, patients, friends, and family, who motivate her to break away from convention and find root-cause answers to the most complex health conditions.

Alicia's Bio

Alicia Barkholtz, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) at Forum Health Fond du Lac and sees patients virtually at Forum Health Knoxville. She has a robust set of skills and knowledge from her experience in urgent care, med/surg units, and the COVID unit in 2020. Alicia’s journey into integrative medicine began during her undergraduate studies when a close family member fell gravely ill and traditional medicine couldn’t provide answers. She turned to Fox Valley Wellness Center, now Forum Health Fond du Lac, where Dr. Meress diagnosed her family member with advanced Lyme disease. His integrative approach facilitated significant healing, igniting Alicia’s passion for holistic care. Since then, she has been deeply committed to integrative and functional medicine. Currently, Alicia specializes in the Medical Weight Loss program, helping patients achieve weight loss and improved quality of life. She explores underlying issues such as hormone and thyroid imbalances that may hinder weight loss, ensuring a comprehensive approach to each patient’s health. Alicia’s practice style is collaborative, working closely with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that balance happiness and health, recognizing that it’s unique for each individual. Outside of the practice, Alicia is an outdoor enthusiast who loves running, hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. She cherishes time with her husband, Jordan, their energetic springer spaniel, Kip, and their wonderful daughter, Haven. Our Approach

Our programs are all about reversing and slowing the aging process, preventing disease and treating chronically ill patients. We utilize a three-pronged approach:

Firstly, we equip patients with the knowledge that is required to take charge of their health and achieve optimal well-being.

Secondly, we focus on disease prevention by providing a thorough evaluation using comprehensive, advanced testing and diagnostics and the information provided on the patient’s health history form.

And finally, we work with patients to implement a rejuvenation program that consists of various science-based treatments that reduce cellular degeneration, promote tissue regeneration and healing as well as slowing down the aging process.

We do NOT replace the role of the family physician, instead we work with primary care physicians, internists and other medical professionals to provide the optimum in integrated care. We consider each and every individual as physiologically unique, and we do not subscribe to a “one size fits all” approach. Our programs focus on a customized approach that will address risk factors that, if avoided or modified, could have beneficial effects for reducing the incidence of and premature mortality from the leading chronic conditions.
